    Anyone for Quick Straight Teeth?

    By Shane Bradley | Practice news | Comments are Closed | 4 September, 2016 | 0

I recently undertook a training course in the Quick Straight Teeth system of short-term cosmetic orthodontics. It was a very enjoyable course and I am excited to be able to offer this new service to our patients. I was really impressed to see how ‘invisible’ these appliances look.

In the past, if you were unhappy with the position of your teeth, for example if they were crooked, dentists would only have been able to offer to crown or ‘cap’ your teeth to improve the alignment. This meant shaving some of the tooth down to put the crown on top. This was a fairly destructive procedure and so over the years dentists have moved away from this type of treatment and we now know that it is much better to try to move your teeth into a more cosmetic position instead.

And now with the introduction of tooth coloured (white) orthodontic brackets and wires, it has become so much easier for adults to have orthodontic treatment!

What is the difference between Adult Cosmetic Orthodontic Treatment compared to conventional ‘comprehensive’ orthodontic treatment?

    • We focus on straightening the teeth at the front of your mouth only
    • We do not make any significant changes to the way your back teeth (molars) meet

How long does this type of treatment take?

    • Generally an average of four to nine months

    Will it be painful?

    • When you first have the brackets and wires placed, you can find it uncomfortable for the first 24-48 hours.
    • At each adjustment appointment the wires may be changed and again it can feel uncomfortable for the first 24 hours.
    • However, since the wires we use in Quick Straight Teeth are not as strong as in conventional orthodontics, this discomfort is minimal and most patients don’t have a problem with it.

The amazing thing about this kind of treatment is the speed of changes you will see in your mouth. Within the first month you will see the teeth moving and starting to align.

Many patients also combine this with some tooth whitening after the orthodontic treatment has been completed, to gain an even better cosmetic result. For this reason, we offer discounted tooth whitening for anyone who has had the Quick Straight Teeth treatment.

If you are interested in having a chat about how we can transform your smile, then simply ring Jackie and book in for a free consultation appointment. A full breakdown of costs are available from Jackie in the practice and a summary of costs are available here.

Quick Straight Teeth treatment per arch (jaw) (includes both fixed and removable retainers) – £1350

Quick Straight Teeth treatment per arch if getting both arches (jaws) done at the same time (includes both fixed and removable retainers) – £1250

Tooth whitening after Quick Straight Teeth – £150 (normally £225, £75 discount!)

Check out the Quick Straight Teeth official website for more information on what this amazing system has to offer.

I am also happy to answer any questions so do get in touch.
