Dental veneers can be placed to improve both the shape and colour of teeth. They are placed on the front surface of the tooth being attached with a dental resin adhesive. They are an excellent way of conserving tooth tissue as very little preparation of the tooth needs to be carried out and sometimes no preparation of the tooth is done so maximum tooth tissue is preserved. Our dentists often include a course of tooth whitening in a treatment plan involving veneers especially when tooth colour is being considered.
The veneers are constructed by one of our dental technicians after they receive an impression of your teeth from us. Once constructed we will fit and cement in place. Veneers are constructed to fit in perfectly with the rest of your teeth to ensure a natural, aesthetic appearance. When deciding upon dental veneers as a treatment item we must consider all aspects of your dental health and particularly how your teeth bite together. If this is too strong then veneers may not be suitable. Your dentist will fully assess these aspects when deciding upon treatment suitability.
